An architecturally significant structure, the Hershey Theatre has been the center for arts and culture in Downtown Hershey since the 1930's. Visitors are struck by its grand beauty as soon as they enter. The Grand Lobby, ornate ceilings, Italian tiled flooring, all reflect detailed craftsmanship. The most interesting part is the arched ceiling that was designed to replicate St. Mark's Cathedral in Venice. The theater's symbol, a gold winged lion, is placed just above the majestic stage. Besides its splendid architecture, the theater is a well known stage for art and drama. Ballets, Broadway shows, plays, musicals are held here regularly. It is equipped with the best audio-visual technical instruments and offers comfortable seating. The theater can also be rented for various events and functions.
